Ariel's Riverside

Formally known as Finkerman's. Good reasons for the change, but sad for people who were used to it. Ask the owners for details.

Welcome to Ariel's Riverside Cafe' and Bar (previously Finkerman's Barbeque Restaurant).

For over fifteen years Lee Duberman and Richard Fink have had one goal...to provide food and wine of the highest quality to the people of Central Vermont and beyond. This has been accomplished with a steadfast commitment to using the best available local and regional ingredients and applying techniques honed during nearly fifty combined years working in their own and others restaurants. Several visits to most restaurants may leave you uninspired to return but each visit to Ariel's causes most people to begin enthusiastically planning their next trip. While the newest "hot chefs" like to throw ingredients like anchovies and chocolate together in some flashy presentation, Lee believes that a focus on purity, balance and depth of ingredients combined with the time honored and tested approaches of many cultures leads to the greatest gustatory rewards. Many people comment on how they can taste every ingredient in one of Lee's complex sauces. You'll find no muddied flavors at Ariel's. Richard believes that one of his most important responsibilities is to provide a wine which enhances Lee's cooking. "I don't want the wine to overpower the food. I want the food to make the wine shine and vice versa." Offering this food and wine in warm, welcoming and relaxed surroundings with great service, complemented by the beautiful and charming city of Montpelier, causes diners to return time after time.

To our Finkerman's customers: We appreciate your business and we are sure you will enjoy this new restaurant. Please come visit us!
