To get to McDonald's from Montpelier, take US Rt. 2 west, to the traffic light in front of the Walker Ford auto dealership. Bear right, going onto the Barre Montpelier Road, which leads eventually to the world's biggest granite quarries, in Barre, Vermont.

About 1.5 miles down the Barre/Montpelier Road, McDonald's is on the left, open 24 hours. If you reach the granite quarry or Williamstown, you went too far.
